18k gold plated

These pieces are made with a base metal of brass or sterling silver, coated in a layer of real 18 karat gold; and e-coated to protect your jewelry and keep it looking new for longer.

18K plated jewelry carries the same luster and appearance as real gold jewelry, but comes at a price that you will love. It’s important to note that gold plated jewelry is likely to oxidize when exposed to water, sweat, perfumes, lotions etc. These elements can make the gold plating wear off, exposing the base layer of metal—so remember to take off your jewelry before you go for a swim, shower or workout to keep it looking new for longer.

sterling silver

Sterling Silver is a precious metal made with 92.5% silver and blended with other metals to make it stronger. Like all our jewelry, our sterling silver jewelry is nickel, lead, and cadmium free making it suitable for anyone with sensitive skin. It is also coated in Rhodium to prevent tarnish.

vermeil

Vermeil (pronounced vehr-may) is where sterling silver and 14k gold plated come together and create magic. Vermeil jewelry is made with a sterling silver base material and plated in 14K gold that is 2.5 microns thick. A premium offering of our best selling styles, our vermeil jewelry is made with a solid .925 sterling silver base and plated in 14K gold that is 10x thicker than the industry standard 'plated gold'. Vermeil is a hypoallergenic material, made to last for years.

The thick plating gives it a luxe look, just like real gold. This premium product is hypoallergenic, made to last and is perfect if you have sensitive skin. It is a water and tarnish resistant material, but like all plated jewelry, it needs some TLC to keep it looking fresh.

rhodium plated

Many of our silver colored pieces have a base metal of brass or sterling silver and are plated with rhodium. Rhodium is a rare precious metal – like gold, silver, or platinum – only more expensive! In fact, it is the most expensive of all the precious metals. Being harder than both silver and gold, it also makes an excellent protective coat that shields jewelry from scratches. One of its greatest advantages is that it is hypoallergenic, it doesn’t tarnish, requires no particular cleaning procedures, and shines bright for years to come.

cubic zirconia

Cubic zirconia, also known as CZ, is a material similar to a diamond in its appearance, brilliance and crystal clarity, but it is a synthesized (i.e. man-made) crystalline material that is clear, hard, and flawless.

Just like real diamonds, Cubic Zirconia is also measured by the 4 Cs—Cut, Clarity, Color and Carat. All our jewelry has the highest grade (AAAAA) cubic zirconia. This means these stones are crafted and polished to perfection making them shine just like real diamonds, with no polish marks or grain lines.

pearls

We use the highest quality of pearls in all our jewelry; freshwater and shell pearls. Shell pearls are made from the inner lining of oysters i.e. mother of pearl. This substance is ground down to a powder and coated on for a beautiful, lustrous finish that you will find across our earrings, necklaces and bracelet collections. Similarly freshwater pearls are real pearls that are harvested in lakes.

Materials Guide

Everyday Jewelry

Our everyday jewelry is made with 18k gold plating, platinum or white gold plating, 18k rose gold plating, brass, stainless steel, and cubic zirconia.

Hypoallergenic

All of our jewelry is 100% nickel and lead-free.

925 Sterling Silver

Our sterling silver jewelry is white-gold-plated sterling silver. Please keep in mind when shopping, we have some products that are silver colored, but not sterling silver. Those silver colored pieces are made with white-gold-plated brass.

Demi-Fine (Vermeil)

Ver-what? Repeat after us: ver-may (simple, right?) Now that you’ve got the pronunciation down, let’s talk details. Our jewelry is always created with high quality materials, but our Vermeil pieces take it to the next level with 18k gold, that’s 2.5 microns thick, layered over sterling silver and real, slightly included round-cut diamonds. This exclusive line brings a little luxury to your everyday, especially when properly cared for.

In order to be Vermeil, jewelry must meet the following quality conditions:

  • Base material is sterling silver (92.5% pure silver + 7.5% other materials)
  • Gold plating must be at least 10k (karats)
  • Plating is at least 2.5 microns thick (1 micron = 1/1000th of a millimeter)

Variations in Gold Hue

There are natural variations in all metals, and these variations are very common in gold. The reason being is that molecules of the base metal slowly transfer into the layer of gold. The variation in hue you are seeing is based on different alloys in the gold mix that can change how gold appears.

Care Instructions

Daily Care: Protect your jewelry and its plating by removing it while swimming, showering, exercising, washing your hands, or applying any products such as perfumes, lotions, or hair products. We pride ourselves on the quality of our product; however, if your jewelry should be exposed to any of the above products, tarnishing may occur. Tarnishing may also be caused by the skin's natural pH levels.

Cleaning Instructions: To keep your jewelry clean, wipe it with a soft cloth. Do not use jewelry cleaner.
