Gold-plated sterling silver

A base of 925 sterling silver (92.5% pure silver) with a layer of real gold on top. Water, sweat, lotions and perfume wear plating down over time, so put your jewelry on last, take it off before swimming, showering or working out, and wipe it with a soft cloth after wearing.

Rhodium-plated sterling silver

A base of 925 sterling silver plated with rhodium, a bright white metal from the platinum family that gives silver its clean, cool shine. Keep it dry, store it in its pouch or box, and polish gently with a soft cloth.

Platinum-plated sterling silver

A base of 925 sterling silver plated with platinum for a bright white finish. Care for it like rhodium-plated silver: keep it dry, store it separately and polish gently with a soft cloth.

Gold-plated brass

A brass base with a layer of gold. Plating lasts longest when it stays dry, so take these pieces off before water, workouts and sleep, and wipe them with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.

Stainless steel

Strong, durable steel made for everyday wear. Rinse with fresh water after the pool or the beach, pat dry, and clean with mild soap and warm water when it needs it.

Pearls and mother-of-pearl

Freshwater pearls are real pearls grown in freshwater mussels, and every one has its own shape. Mother-of-pearl is the shimmering inner layer of a shell. Both are soft, so put them on after lotion and perfume, keep them away from water and cleaners, and store them flat and apart from other jewelry.

Cubic zirconia and moissanite

Cubic zirconia is a lab-made stone cut for brilliant sparkle. Moissanite is a lab-created gemstone known for its fire and brightness. Keep stones sparkling by wiping them with a soft cloth, and clean gently with warm water and mild soap, then dry well. Plated settings still need the care of their metal.

Storing your jewelry

Keep each piece in its own pouch or box so chains stay untangled and surfaces stay scratch-free. A dry drawer away from the bathroom is the best spot.
